Enchantment Resort has been a tennis destination since its conception as a John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch in the late 1980s.

As a haven for tennis enthusiasts, this Arizona tennis resort offers private lessons, activities, tennis programs, tournaments and workshops. The talented staff offers instruction from beginner to advanced levels.

Guests enjoy playing on a total of seven outdoor courts, including two center courts. Players have one of the world's most dramatic landscapes to serve as the backdrop for casual games, tennis lessons, clinics and tournaments.

ADULT PROGRAM

COMPLIMENTARY SKILLS AND DRILLS CLINIC
Sharpen your tennis skills with an emphasis on fast paced drilling. Open to all levels.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4:00pm.

DRILL OF THE DAY    $45/pp
This class focuses on a single stroke with an emphasis on production. You will learn the latest teaching techniques to develop your game to its fullest potential. Open to all levels.
Daily 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

“BEAT THE PRO”  
$85/pp or Free of charge
Test your skills against one of Enchantment Resort’s Tennis Professionals.  Players will play a no-add scoring match and at the end of the hour if you are beating the Pro there will be no charge!  Open to all levels.  Scheduled on request.

JUNIOR PROGRAM

ENCHANTMENT JUNIOR ACADEMY   $45/pp
Improve your child’s overall game through stroke isolation and fast-paced drilling.   This class incorporates the latest teaching techniques to develop their game to its fullest potential.  Open to advanced players.  Daily 10:00am to 11:00am.

SUPER STARS    $45/pp
This class is designed to introduce children to the game of tennis in a fun and friendly environment.  Students will learn proper stoke production through positive reinforcement and repetition. Point play and competition are introduced through fun games designed to encourage players to excel. Open to beginning and intermediate players ages 5 and up.
Daily 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Court use, daily clinics and racquet rental are all included in the resort fee.

Meet the pros

Nelson Banes

Nelson is a former NCAA All-American and ATP professional.  He has coached on both the ATP and WTA tours.  Mr. Banes is also the award-winning producer and director of the documentary “Inside Tennis” made for the Tennis Channel. He leads the experienced, friendly, and enthusiastic tennis professionals at Enchantment.

Brian Young

Brian has been teaching for nearly 30 years as a coach, sports psychologist and educator. He has received his P-1 Elite Professional certification from the USPTA. . In the past, Brian has served as Tennis Pro at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, California, Club Solimar in Sonora, Mexico, and the City of Santa Barbara in California.

.Cliff Gerwick

Cliff started playing tennis in northern California when he wasyoung.  He was on the Men’s Tennis Team at Alaska Pacific Universitywhere he also taught tennis to adults and children. His career kept himtoo busy to formally compete, but he continued to play and is nowcompeting in tournaments on a regular basis.  He finally obtained hisUSPTA status while teaching here at the resort.

Demian DaCosta

Demian started playing tennis at the age of 8 in his native Brazil.He held national and state ranking in Brazil from 1990-1996. He has beenteaching tennis in the US for over 10 years, and is certified throughthe Professional Tennis Registry and is a certified coach for ModernTennis Methodology.

John Meyers

John played collegiate tennis while studying at Western New Mexico University. He became a USRSA-certified racquet technician in 1994 and received his USPTA teaching credentials in 2005. He has been at Enchantment since 2000, and splits his time between tennis and hiking, serving as a Tennis Pro and a Hiking Guide.
