Sustainable Practices

At Enchantment, we believe in preserving the awe-inspiring beauty of the canyon and its surrounding environment for generations to come. Our sustainability initiatives are designed to reduce our ecological footprint while providing an exceptional guest experience rooted in care, respect, and responsibility.

Leave No Trace

Trail House is a Leave No Trace partner. We encourage all guests to adopt the Leave No Trace principles while enjoying the Sedona trail system. Planning ahead, respecting wildlife, disposing trash properly and sticking to the marked trails using the Trail Forks app. Operating off satellite technology, guests have a safe, reliable map that tracks in real time. Allowing hikers to stay on marked trails and preserving the fragile, biological soils that make up much of the desert floor.

Reducing Plastic Waste

In partnership with the non-profit organization Join the Pipe, each guest is gifted a reusable water bottle made from biodegradable sugarcane. Join the Pipe provides clean drinking water in developing countries by supporting clean-up projects, reducing plastic waste, tackling plastic pollution at the source, and providing healthier living conditions to communities in need.

Our retail shops sell non-plastic bottles as a more sustainable alternative to bottled water, keeping plastics out of the environment and off the trails.

Water refill stations are located throughout the property. You may locate them on our property map.

We’ve eliminated over 250,000 plastic water bottles annually by offering filtered water stations and reusable water options throughout the property.

By providing larger, reusable Mii amo amenity bottles in our guestrooms over individual disposable ones, we reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills and the ocean.

Conserving Water

Water conservation serves everyone. The resort’s private onsite wastewater treatment plant supplies reclaimed water for irrigation and the landscaping team has phased out non-native plants to minimize water use and better align with the natural ecosystem.

Guests are encouraged to participate in sustainability efforts with the option to reuse towels during their stay. This practice helps reduce the overall water consumption required for laundering, as well as the associated energy usage and detergent consumption. By choosing to reuse towels, guests contribute to environmental conservation by minimizing the impact of frequent laundry cycles. In addition, each guestroom is equipped with water-efficient shower heads and toilets.

We recycle an average of 1.1 million gallons of water per month through our on-site treatment plant, which is used to irrigate the property’s landscaping.

Our sustainable linen program conserves water and energy. Towels and bed linens are refreshed every third day of your stay. If you would like fresh linens sooner, simply leave them on the floor.

Canyon Care

The Boynton Canyon Preservation Fund, established nearly two decades ago by Enchantment, is dedicated to preserving Boynton Canyon and its trails. A portion of the tour fee for all Trail House hike and bike tours goes directly to the Boynton Canyon Preservation Fund.

Culinary Partnerships

We’re proud to partner with local and environmentally conscious farms to bring our guests high-quality, sustainable products. Our chefs select local and regionally sourced ingredients to not only offer the freshest, finest quality, but to also reduce the impact on transportation and gas emissions. Preference is given to suppliers that utilize the most sustainable farming practices where possible.
